Just taking a quick moment to wish you all a wonderful Christmas Day as we remember the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Have a wonderful holiday season, and may God bless you all in the New Year!

Baby Quilts Done!

Earlier this year when I was first pregnant, I decided to have a boy and girl baby quilt ready for when baby was born.

I started with the girl's quilt, probably because in the back of mind I figured I was having another boy. I thought I'd better do a girl's quilt before hand or I'd never get to make a pink one! So I finished the girl's quilt four weeks before my due date. I remember thinking that I had four weeks and could possibly get the boy's quilt done. :)

Well that never got started, and then Logan was born two weeks early! So I started on his quilt, which was finished up just a couple weeks ago. Logan's quilt is a close cousin to his cousin Braedon's quilt, which you can see here.

So my lovely pink and brown quilt is just for me!

Owen

Owen is 6 years old already, and is thoroughly enjoying Grade 1. He loves pretty much everything at school (although when we asked him what he does in Science, he said 'what's science?'). He is really into math - just like Dad!

Owen was quite pleased when he could show Jay (and Uncle Gord who was here then) his new agenda from school! Jay was just as pleased!

Jay helped Owen count up the money in his piggy bank and write it down on a paper for him. A couple days later when Owen found a few pennies, he promptly put them in his bank, and recorded it on his paper! Way too much like Jay!

He is also very much into hockey! He always knows when the next game is on, although he doesn't like it when there's a day in between games! He often gets to stay up to watch the first period, and then gets up early in the morning to go to Leafs.com to check the score and watch the game in six minutes! We hear him at the computer cheering when the Leafs score! Owen's mini stick and ball are usually not very far from him, and if he finds one on his way to do a job, there's no hope of him remembering the job!

Zach is Next!

Of the four boys, Zach is the one with the highest energy level. What he tends to do is store it up all day and then release it just before bedtime! Unless his cousin Timera is around, then they both release high amounts of energy!

Zach enjoyed swimming lessons this summer, and even jumped off the diving board into the deep end! Not bad for his first year of lessons.

Zach also loves to ride on Dad's new toy - more about that one later. His first ride on a four-wheeler he was doing a 'who-hoo' the whole way - I think he loves it. He's always wanting to go top speed - and through lots of mud!

Jay's parents recently moved into an 11th floor apartment, so I was explaining to him that we would have to go up the elevator to get to their home. He said he knew how to get to Opa & Oma's: you go to the doctor's office, go in the elevator and push 11. Then you get to their house.

Zach enjoys colouring, crafts, and computer games. It keeps him busy on the long afternoons when Owen's not home from school yet, and the other boys are sleeping. He can't wait until he can go to kindergarten in the fall!

Noah's Turn!

Noah is all of a sudden growing up! He turned two in September, and I noticed on this recent picture that he doesn't have anymore baby look to him! Never mind the fact that he is a tank! He is not a tall boy, but he's big!

Noah loves to have fun. He loves flags, hockey, and Cars (he calls Lightning McQueen 'Chow' - I think it's short for 'Kachow'). His latest love is trains. He is very much a boy!

Noah is the average two-year old, and is often into things. However, when he pairs up with another two-year old they are trouble!

Blessings of 2009

The end of the year is a great time to reflect on the blessings in our lives. So here goes!

Here is one of the latest and best pictures of Logan. He is now 3 months old, and is a very content baby. He is sleeping very well overnight, usually doing about 10 hours or so.

Logan is taking after Noah and is a thumb-sucker. He only does this in bed, mostly because when he's not in bed he just can't seem to get it into his mouth. It keeps him quite content, and I've often found him in his bed, wide awake, sucking his thumb.

He is a quite smiley baby as well, and manages to charm all his brothers. They are quite taken with him. Noah has quite smothered him with love, hugs and kisses (the ones that leave a slobbery mess on Logan's head!). He is also growing like a weed - he's on track to be bigger than Noah, our current tank!

So far Logan has no real place to call his own in our house. He sleeps in the bassinet part of the pack and play in the front hallway, his clothes are in Noah's room, and his change table is in our room. All this is because he will be sharing a bedroom with Noah at some point. I was afraid he would be waking Noah up in the middle of the night so I didn't want to put him in there overnight yet. Soon though!

Next post: Noah!

He's Growing!

So I knew that Logan was feeding well, but sometimes you just never know until you have them weighed. On Wednesday Logan weighed in at 10 lbs, 5 oz - and he's only 4 weeks old. Looks like Noah has some competition!

So where does he store it all? He doesn't seem to have lots of chubbiness, but look at those cheeks!

But then when I compare him to Noah, I guess he's not really that big!
